Healing Fire Ceremonies

Burning Agnihotra Fire in sacred copper pyramid vessel

Burning Agnihotra Fire in sacred copper pyramid vessel

My personal experience….

As a child I was always extremely fascinated by fire, flames, campfires burning and used to gaze for hours deep into the flames, until my face and body got so hot to the point of needing to pull away for safety’s sake…!

On one of my trips to my ‘soul home’ The Island of Bali, in Ubud area, I was having lunch in one of my favourite café restaurants called Clear Café and felt very drawn to a man sitting on another table close to mine…my sense that I needed to connect with him wouldn’t go away…These are the serendipitous ways in my life that I find I am being prepared for whatever is coming up in the future, via these specific meetings and moments in time orchestrated by the greater Energy Field in magical ways….

So , back to the story…I took the courage to go over to him and share with him that I felt the need to connect. He was most welcoming, spoke with an American accent and our conversation was stimulating and fascinating…To cut to the chase, about 2 years later, which was June 2016, I am at the New Earth Project, in Kiliki, near Ubud, spending time with Sacha Stone, Brian Kelly, Jules Bright, Soverign Skye and other’s in the awesome team creating New Earth Living Design…And in walks Robert Bagnall…ah the man I met in the café a while back…what a connection…and I had had the opportunity to experience Agnihotra with Brian Kelly as well…

So I met up again with Robert the next day, he brought with him the traditional authentic copper set used to house the fire itself for Agnihotra ceremonies…He patiently has taught me step by step how to set up the pieces of cow dung with Ghee spread on each piece…to learn more about this I highly recommend visiting Robert Bagnall’s website and getting his must read book  ‘The Ancient Solution to Modern Pollution’, super science anyone can use for health and protection in a toxic world

What is Agnihotra?

Agnihotra is one of many sacred healing fire ceremonies from the ancient Vedic tradition that provide profound healing for our planet and all her inhabitants.

Agnihotra (agni means fire, hotra means healing) is an ancient fire ritual from India

Agnihotra is the simplest and most profound of these.  A small fire is burned in a copper pyramid, accompanied by chanting to create a specific effect.

These fire ceremonies offer a framework for group or individual emotional and physical healing, relinquishing unwanted beliefs, habits or thought patterns, releasing unworkablility, and manifesting. Ceremonies can be offered for healing the planet, world peace, supporting joyful planetary consciousness, re-setting nature's energetic grids and any purpose in harmony with the Divine.

Agnihotra makes the performer and circle participants (YAJAMAN in Sanskrit) more intelligent. It renews the brain cells. It revitalizes the skin. It purifies the blood. It is the holistic approach to life. No complaints about that!!!

“A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.

-Mahatma Gandhi

Except from Robert’s book:

“Agnithotra is performed at the precise moment of sunrise and sunset and the timing is crucial to achieving the results we are seeking. If Agnihotra timings are missed it is no longer Agnihotra and it will not provide the same benefits as when it is performed at the precise and correct times. Also vitally important that the materials used be pure in terms of their origin, method of collection.

The materials used are:

Cow dung, cow’s ghee, and wholegrain unpolished unbroken rice.

These materials are burnt in a seamless copper pyramid of prescribed size and shape at the precise times of sunrise and sunset.

Agnithotra is accompanied by the performance of a word/sound combination which is spoken/sung at the precise moment of either sunrise or sunset at which time the rice is offered as an oblation to the fire which consumes the ingredients and thrusts them into the atmosphere where they have a very powerful and beneficial effect on the entire biosphere.”

At the heart of Homa Therapy is Agnihotra

Benefits of Agnihotra!!!

  • Agnihotra reduces tension on the mind.

  • Agnihotra renews the brain cells. It revitalizes the skin. It purifies the blood. It provides the holistic approach to life.

  • Agnihotra has the ability to neutralize pathogenic bacteria.

  • You sit at Agnihotra fire and breathe in the smoke, which goes quickly into the lungs and the bloodstream. This has excellent effect on circulatory system and even more so if Agnihotra ash is ingested. The smoke has a good effect on the brain and nervous system.

  • If plants are kept in Homa atmosphere where vibrations of Agnihotra pyramid fire are maintained, one subtle enough can actually see growth, communication etc. Plants receive nutrition from Agnihotra atmosphere, become happy and grow well.

  • Just as Agnihotra pyramid fire gives nourishment to plants, it provides the same for human life and animals.

  • When Agnihotra is performed, the Agnihotra smoke gathers particles of harmful radiation from the atmosphere and on a very subtle level neutralizes their radioactive effect. Nothing is destroyed, merely changed.

  • Much healing energy emanates from the Agnihotra pyramid.

  • An aura energy field is created around plants during Agnihotra. Thus plants become stronger and disease resistant.

  • When the flame dies the energy is locked in the resultant ash. This ash is used for preparing various folk medicines.

  • Thousands of people on all continents belonging to different races, languages, religions and spiritual groups who practice Agnihotra have remarked that simply by performing daily HOMA, (i.e. Agnihotra sunrise/sunset) they feel like a protective film surrounds them.

Some examples of the practical use of the residual ash created from the fire ceremony:

Collect the cooled Agnihotra ash from the copper pyramid and pass it through a fine sieve, such as a tea strainer.

Store this finely powdered ash in a container made of natural material like glass, earthenware, clay, paper or wood. Do not store ash in plastic or in metal other than pure copper or gold. The bigger, harder parts that remain in the strainer can be given to plants, put in water sources like rivers or lakes, or put in the compost pile. Wherever Agnihotra ash is placed, it gives healing energy.

Agnihotra cough syrup

Mix the juice from one lemon with 2 tablespoons of honey and half a teaspoon of Agnihotra ash powder in half a cup of boiled water. Take one dessert spoon of this mixture every hour.

Agnihotra water cure

Put one tablespoon of Agnihotra ash powder in 2 liters of potable water, preferably well water. Bring to a boil and boil for 10 minutes without a lid. Then pour the mixture through a strainer, coffee filter or simply let the ash sink to the bottom and pour the water into a separate container. Now drink this Agnihotra water throughout the day.

Agnihotra herbal tea

Prepare a herbal tea of your choice and add one pinch of Agnihotra ash powder to it. You will experience how much better the effect of the tea is with the additional of Agnihotra ash.
